Classes are held regularly every week during term-times, and sometimes during holidays.

Monday mornings: 9.00 - 10.00 - T'ai Chi and Qi Gong

 

Tuesday evenings: 7.00 - 8.30 - T'ai Chi and Qi Gong

 

Thursday evenings: 7.00 - 8.30 - T'ai Chi and Qi Gong

Types of classes 

T'ai Chi and Qi Gong

 

A TYPICAL T'AI CHI CLASS...

 

  • A gentle warm-up, primarily to loosen the joints

 

  • Qi Gong breathing exercises to open the meridiens, and stimulate the energy

 

  • Tai Chi Fei Shou - a series of flowing movements designed to get the energy flowing and relax the body

 

  • Interactive exercises, such as "sticky hands"

 

  • T'ai Chi Form - a series of movements designed to help learn to control your energy

 

  • Interspersed with these regular features will be a variety of other exercise, each designed to get people to relax physically and mentally, and to start to get the most out of their life.

A TYPICAL FENG SHOU CLASS...

 

 

  • A gentle warm-up, primarily to loosen the joints

 

  • Qi Gong deep breathing exercises to open the meridiens, and stimulate the energy

 

  • Foot Flow Patterns - a series of kicking patterns designed to improve balance, targeting and evasion

 

  • Gripping Exercises - a series of exercises designed to improve response under pressure, and teach principles for getting out of locks and grips in any situation

 

  • Roll-Aways - a series of striking patterns designed to cultivate the roots, accuracy and evasion techniques

 

  • Interspersed with these regular features will be a variety of other exercise, each designed to get people to relax physically and mentally when under pressure, and to start to feel confident to deal with all forms of aggression.

A TYPICAL WEAPONS CLASS...

 

  • A gentle warm-up, primarily to loosen the joints, and a warm-up with the stick to get used to handling the weapons

 

  • Deep breathing to open the meridiens, and stimulate the energy

 

  • Weapons Forms - Stick, sword and sash forms are practised regularly 

 

  • Interactive Exercises - a series of exercises designed to improve relaxation, focus and response under pressure

 

  • Self-Defence Exercises - Feng Shou weapons exercises to train people in dealing with weapons attacks

 

  • Interspersed with these regular features will be a variety of other exercise, each designed to get people to relax physically and mentally when under pressure, and to start to feel confident not only in dealing with weapons, but also in projecting energy further

  • Weapons classes are often undertaken by more advanced students wishing to energise themselves even further
